Client & Activity

Nidal Agar (Managing Director) – Arab Cargo, Isleworth

Established in 1977, Arab Cargo are a freight forwarder who specialize in serving the Middle East region. They ship a wide variety of cargo including cars, animals, dangerous goods and pharmaceuticals. Arab Cargo have exciting expansion plans and are looking to open a facility in Manchester, as well as offices in the Middle East.

The Challenge / Requirement

Arab Cargo had some pharmaceutical business shipping medication for various Embassies. As this area of their business was increasing, they made the decision to invest to secure and develop their business in the pharmaceutical sector.

This was a major undertaking for Nidal and Arab Cargo due to the regulations associated with pharmaceutical facilities. This significant investment included impressive new controlled ambient and cold store facilities. Therefore, Arab Cargo were looking for a partner who could not only supply the equipment and services required, but also be on hand to guide and support him through the process.

The Solution / Outcome

Nidal spoke to three potential partners for the project and settled on Biomap as his supplier of choice. Following an initial Mapping Impact Risk Assessment (MIRA) to evaluate the facility and identify any potential areas of risk, Biomap provided a temperature mapping study to map the new ambient and cold store facilities. Once the new facility had been temperature mapped, Biomap installed a permanent monitoring system which provides email and text alerts to notify Nidal of any excursions, plus also a phone app which allows him to monitor the conditions in his facility from any location.

“I found the Biomap team to be very friendly and approachable, plus knowledgeable and professional, with many years’ experience in the pharmaceutical sector.

Whilst some of the potential suppliers I approached wanted to provide a quotation over the phone, the Biomap team made a number of visits to view the facility and fully understand our business and requirements”
